Timothy Whitlock (*1996 in Tübingen) is an academic, musician and conceptual artist bridging the gap between synthetic mood making and critical theory. His scholarly work is mainly focused on 20th century theory and fiction as well as their relation to the rapidly changing economics and politics of that century. He also self-releases music under the alias Sonderbar and is a founding member of art collective Unit 404 as well as its speculative art project Not Found. He works and lives in Berlin.
Academic Career
2018 – 2023: B.A. in Media Studies and English Studies at Hochschule für Bildende Künste as well as the Technische Universität Braunschweig. During this time he held a variety of different student assistant positions.
Since 2023: M.A. in European Literature at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin.
Artistic Career
Within the collective, Timothy serves as conceptual director, lead researcher and sound designer.
